Happy Birthday To Me

This month my business celebrates it’s first birthday and I wanted to mark this occasion with my very first blog post. They say that time flies when you’re having fun, and boy are “they” right. Creating the new website and branding over the last few months has really allowed me to reflect on the last year in business.
Taking the leap and becoming a Personal Trainer has changed my life for the better and I now never have that dreaded Monday Blues feeling. I almost don’t recognise that “Brad “from a year ago, I was fed up with my “real job”, ready to make a change, and terrified beyond belief that this could potentially fail and I would be left with egg on my face.
When I founded my business a year ago I did with determination and excitement. But, I would be lieing if I said I wasn’t nervous - as this was a bit of make or break for me. Now even I will admit that I could never have predicted the overwhelming response that I received. This year for me has been the best for my career and although starting a business is never easy, it’s been so worth every moment and the highs have always outweighed the lows. I now have 40 clients on my books.
My top 5 highlights have been hard to narrow down but I settled on these:
1.Meeting new people
One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to meet so many people. I have worked with people all around Swindon and they all have interesting stories, families, hobbies and careers. It's great to learn from them and learn from their life experiences.
2.Being a part of people’s progress
When a client walks through the door to the gym they have a goal in mind or something they want to achieve. I love be part of their success and sharing their achievement. There is no better reward.
3.Understanding People
I have learnt that we are all so very different. What motivates one of my clients could be completely wrong to the next. Also struggles, everyone has their own fitness or nutritional pains but working them out is all part of the fun.
4.Freedom
I love having control of my own time and choosing when I will and won't work. This has to be the only time in my life that I have chosen to go into work on a Saturday morning or finish at 9 pm.
5.Being able to move out and live with my partner
This may seem slightly soppy but never the less a huge high for me. Moving in with my girlfriend and having our own home has been one of my top highlights this year.
So, that’s it, first blog down. I am keen to blog about my journey and what I have been up to month on month. So be sure to keep an eye out as I hope to share my opinions, tips, advice, reviews that I hope will be of interest to you.

But in the meantime, a massive thank you to all those who have helped me to make the business what it is today and happy birthday to not only my business but to my clients who have made this all possible.
Look forward to training with you soon
Brad
